Merry Christmas from the Shinlevers!

"An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."

Luke 2:9-11

Merry Christmas from the Shinlever’s!

Christmas At Home

Kaitlin is ready to visit and spend time with family at Gigi’s house and Kiki’s house!  Before we head east, Kory and I let Kaitlin open presents at home.  She was SO excited to be able to FINALLY rip open all the shiny paper that we’d been depriving her of for the past 3 weeks!

Stockings were hung by the chimney with care with hopes that Buzz Lightyear (her favorite) would soon be there!

Kiki sent her a Princess Cozy Coupe to play with in the spring.  Legend has it this present was Kory’s favorite as a toddler … the red one, not the princess version!

Another hit was a set of 8 Toy Story books.  She wouldn’t give them up …

Kaitlin got her Panda Pillow Pal that she’d been pulling off the shelf at Walmart for the past month!  She decided the best way to play with the Panda was to ride him …

And finally, I believe it would’ve taken the jaws of life to pry her new Toy Story 3 friends from her hands!

It’s safe to say that Kaitlin enjoyed her first wave of Christmas presents.  We can’t wait to see our friends and family for a Tender Tennessee Christmas!

Christmas Wear

It is hard being a baby in the winter. You can’t go outside and you have to wear all sorts of bulky clothes. It is just tough being a girl!

It has been so fun dressing Kaitlin in Christmas clothes. I am going to miss the Christmas season and all her cute outfits!

We are dreaming of a White Christmas!

Our bags are packed and we are ready to go!

Nothing cuter than Christmas pajamas. Don’t know where she learned to carry her blanket like Santa’s bag.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree (Part 2)

I just love Kaitlin’s personalized Christmas tree shirt!  It’s been tough getting a picture of her in but I finally got a few good ones.  All it took to perk her up was to mention our Christmas tree!

Last year, this was as close as she got to it.  Doesn’t she look like she’s about to get into something???  IMG_2976

This year, she gets to get a little bit closer.  Kory & I have had this tree for several years with ornaments we’ve collected at the beach every summer.  It’s a really cool tree and I believe it’s safe to say that Kaitlin enjoys it as well.

Maybe intrigued more than anything!  Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree … oh how Kaitlin Grace adores you!

3 more days till Christmas!

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Kaitlin’s first Christmas movie/special in 2009 was A Charlie Brown Christmas!  It was really one of the first times we ever got her to intently watch the television for more than 30 seconds – pretty good to hold off a 9 month old that long!

One year later, this annual special is must-see-tv again.  Kaitlin, Kory & I snuggled up on the sofa to watch it and again, she was enthralled to watch a classic!

Merry Christmas Kaitlin Grace!

After Charlie Brown, Kaitlin decided to run around the downstairs practicing to be a good little mama!  She loves her baby stroller.  I have to admit, she’s a natural!

I just can’t resist that cheeky smile of hers!  We love our little girl!

Happy Meal

Kaitlin has never been a great eater. Lately she would rather play or color and was too busy to eat. This all changed this weekend. I think she is going thru a growth spurt because all she wants to do is eat! We have eaten early dinners and even had huge snacks. She is eating a TON! Kaitlin is one happy girl after her meals.

Kaitlin wanted to say Happy Monday and Happy Breakfast!

She thinks Tennessee is #1

Christmas comes early

Kaitlin was lucky to get an early Christmas present when Gigi and Didi came with a new jumping zebra! It is the new rage in our house and Kaitlin loves taking all her animals on a ride! I am amazed at the funny things she does and wonder where she learned to do so many things! I also wonder where my baby went. I can’t believe how grown up she looks!

Gotta love a cute reindeer shirt!

Reindeer Games

I ordered the cutest Christmas shirt for Kaitlin from! I love how it turned out.Kaitlin thinks it turned out pretty cute too! IMG_6514

She LOVES her reindeer that her Great-grandparent Frey’s gave her last year. He plays music and Kaitlin has learned to make him sing so we hear a lot of him these days!

I love bows but this little Christmas Bow my mom brought Kaitlin is one of my favorites! I am loving dressing Kaitlin up for Christmas!

Cute Boots and Building Blocks

Kaitlin loves her new boots Gigi and Didi brought her when they came to visit. We put them on at least a dozen times a day. I asked her to smile for me and she posed like this! The girl knows cute boots when she sees them!

We played with blocks all afternoon and Kaitlin was having so much fun. I noticed her buildings getting taller and taller. She was really concentrating and making her creation perfect! She was so proud of her masterpiece. It was so great to find another activity to occupy this active toddler now that we can not escape outside and play!

Kaitlin was so happy to see her Daddy when he walked in the door! It is always the best part of the day seeing my 2 cuties play together.
