Kaitlin's Homecoming

On Friday, Kaitlin was discharged and allowed to go home! Thanks to all our friends (Kiki & Pop, Mamaw, Steve & Sarah, Blue Ridge Church of Christ, WM Transportation & Warehouse) for the wonderful flowers! We couldn't have asked for anything so beautiful and thoughtful! Thanks to Gigi & G'Daddy, Mark, Chris & Beth, Steve & Sarah, Chris & Holly, Joe & Beth, Ellen & Dan, and Will (who traveled 2 1/2 hours) for coming to see us at the hospital. AMC, by the way, has the nicest, kindest, most considerate & helpful nursing staff around! We were so blessed by their help & company over the past 3 days!

We left AMC on Friday afternoon & Kaitlin Grace arrived at ther new home around 2:00 p.m. on Friday where she was greeted by Gigi, G'Daddy, & Cool Aunt Rachel (who flew all the way from Nashville to see her!). Again, we are so blessed to have family here to help us! Kaitlin is doing great & sleeping a lot. We think she likes to catch butterflies with her hands in her sleep! Below are Kaitlin & Mommy strapped in for the ride home & Kaitlin in Daddy's arms, happy to be home.

11:01 A.M.

Today, March 25th, 2009, at 11:01 a.m., our baby daughter, Kaitlin Grace Shinlever, was born! We were so excited to meet her! It was such a wild ride for our little girl but after about 12 hours of labor, she finally saw the light. Amy & Kaitlin are doing great & not to worry, daddy didn't faint! Kaitlin's first 8 hours were very productive today. She weighed in at 8 lbs 7 oz and is completely healthy - now if only she can fit into all those wonderful clothes that her Kiki, Gigi, & awsome friends bought her!

God has truly blessed our lives with such a wonderful little girl & we can't thank everyone enough for their thoughts, prayers, & support. Check out some of the pictures from our first morning & afternoon as a family!

Anticipation

Baby Kaitlin is due on March 24th. Last Tuesday when I went to the doctor, she told me that she'd schedule my weekly appt. for next Tuesday ... but ... the baby will probably be here before then. Its now Sunday so we may actually make it to the next appt but everyday we wake up its like, "Today may be the day!" We can't wait to meet Kaitlin but we're also enjoying the last few days together as a couple instead of a a full-blown family. Stay tuned for more updates. We're SO excited! Check out Kaitlin's new room that's waiting for her ...
