The mystery of the missing remote

Kory and Kaitlin share a love for remotes. For a while, we had about 5 remotes  just to turn on the TV. Forget about watching a Bluray!  That would require an additional 2 remotes!  So Kory “simplified” things and bought 1 universal remote to control everything – which I’m pretty such is more intelligent than I am!  So Kory moved his old remote upstairs in the play room.  Thus begins the caper of the missing remote control …

The Suspect

Using skills I learned as child watching Daphnie & Velma on Scooby Doo, I figured that it was in a toy bin and would turn up during clean up time.

Repeat Offender

After a few days and no remote, Kory was wondering where it had ran off to, and I had looked everywhere.  Then, Kaitlin's TV remote went missing and I knew we had a mystery.

Looking Guilty

Apparently Kaitlin loves to hide things in her secret  hiding place. I watched her gathering balls and blocks around the  playroom and then they would disappear. So I was patient and planned a stake-out to catch her hiding more treasures.

Watching her I finally found her attempting to hide large stuffed animal behind the TV in her secret place! I found many missing pieces of toys games, puzzles and BOTH remotes!

Dancing Girl

Kaitlin and I went to Gymboree this morning. She got moved up a level so she is now the youngest in her class. She had so much fun today running around the gym and crawling, sliding, and dancing. We have continued the trend this afternoon and have been playing away. IMG_4950IMG_4959

Kaitlin’s Room

We are 1st time parents and it only took us 15 months to realize that Kaitlin likes to sleep in a dark room. Kory finished installing her curtains and hanging things in her room this weekend. I am so pleased how it all turned out and Love her room! I think she loves it too!! We don’t plan to move her into her big girl bed anytime soon but it is so cute.

15 month check up

Kaitlin had her 15 month checkup today and she knew exactly where she was when we walked in the Dr’s office. She was not happy to be there and she let everyone know. She was terrible at her 1 year visit and lost her mind when they pricked her finger. So I enlisted Kory to be my baby wrangler today so I could have a conversation with our doctor while Kaitlin screamed. Kory wins Father of the day for going with me after all his travel troubles last night. We got a  terrible lightning  storm that lasted forever diverting Kory’s plane to Springfield MO. They shut down our airport and Kory and his travelers rented a car and drove the rest of the way home. He got home after 3 am and still went with us. Thanks Kory!

Kaitlin is still really tall 33 1/2 inches ( 97th percentile) and 23 lbs and 4 oz (50th percentile). She had a great appointment and they are very pleased at her development and progress! Kaitlin just wanted to leave.  We rewarded her 4 shots with lunch at Chikfila and she was a happy happy girl. After we got home she went down for a nap. Unfortunately we had another round of thunderstorms come thru the area that woke Kaitlin up from her nap early. I was listening to her on the monitor when she was startled by the thunder and stated yelling “ No NO!!” I found her in her crib pointing out the window mad at the thunder for waking her up. She did it several other times after thunder this afternoon. It was the cutest thing.

Beary Sweet

This is what we do every morning when Kaitlin wakes up. She runs over to Miss Bear and gives her a huge hug and some kisses! She loves to snuggle and gives air kisses.

Worn out from all that snuggling!

New Trick!

This is Kaitlin’s newest trick! She wanted something she could not reach so she used her chair to give her a little extra help. Kaitlin was so proud of herself! She is climbing stairs now very quickly and she thinks she is such a big girl.
